{Welcome Home Suzette!}

We are very excited to announce that The Atlanta Wedding Loft has a new director – Suzette Hart!  After two fantastic years, The Atlanta Wedding Loft is thrilled to add a full time director that can continue to guide our group of vendors, take excellent care of our clients and dream bigger than ever!  We truly believe we have found the perfect person for the job!  Suzette brings 17 years of expertise in the wedding and marketing industries to the table and I can’t wait to see where she takes the loft!  Suzette was most recently with Conde Nast and BRIDES Magazine and has been a supporter of the loft since our doors opened! Prior to working with Brides Magazine, Suzette was a fabulous wedding planner with Gooseberry Events and a director of events at Chateau Elan!  Suzette has incredible and invaluable expertise when it comes to creating magnificent events, working with brides and shaping businesses within the wedding / event industry.  Exciting times lie ahead and we are thrilled to say {Welcome Home}!

{Welcome Home} Christine Gallagher Photography!

We are very excited to announce that Christine Gallagher Photography is now a part of Atlanta Wedding Loft family! Christine Gallagher Photography offers  boutique-style wedding and portrait photography that is clasically inspired with a modern twist.  Christine and her associate Sarah have an incredible skill and talent for capturing all the right moments on your wedding day.   Their work has been featured on many of today’s popular wedding websites and published nationally in magazines such as The Knot, Atlanta Occasions, Weddings Unveiled and Southern Seasons.

Born in western North Carolina, Christine moved to Atlanta in 1995 to pursue a B.F.A in photography. A love of photography, mixed with a passion for capturing emotion, made weddings a perfect fit for Christine and in 2000, Christine Gallagher Photography was born. Their enthusiasm and passion for photographing weddings is covered by using aspects of traditional photography. Although posed portraits are an essential part of the wedding day, their primary focus is editorial photography. From capturing the details that shaped the day, to the special, intimate moments between the couple, their family and friends, so that your event photos will be treasured for years to come. We are so excited to have Christine Gallagher Photography  join The Atlanta Wedding Loft. Welcome Home Christine!

Bon Appetit!

Last Thursday night we had the pleasure of attending Sun In My Belly’s Supper Club and had such a wonderful time! The candlelit four course meal was unbelievably delicious and the harmonious environment was so relaxing and  romantic.  From the dim lighting to the live music, the entire set up and experience was lovely! We loved seeing several Atlanta Wedding Loft vendors showing their support at the first Thursday night supper of this new series.  It was great to see Laura of Faith Flowers and Efran of E. Lebron outside of work and enjoying a nice dinner with someone special.  After hors d’oeuvre and a delightful blueberry cocktail, we tasted heirloom tomato ravioli with basil oil and black truffle pecorino.  Personally, I’ve never been a huge tomato or ravioli fan, but I’m happy to say this dish absolutely changed my mind…or perhaps my taste buds! Next we had a delightful summer treat that consisted of watermelon salad with sun gold tomatoes with kalamata olives and goats milk feta over baby arugula served with a mint vinaigrette.  For our entrée course, we were served pork carnitas with grilled peaches, oregano over green chile grits with vermouth braised pole beans.  I am not ashamed to say that we did not leave a single morsel from this decadent course.   Although we were pretty full at this point, we topped it off with  peach panna cotta with nectarine compote for dessert.  Delish is all I have to say! I will definitely be attending Thursday night Supper Club again and you should too!

first course ~ fried green tomato with herbed goat cheese + pink eyed pea succotash 

salad course ~ late summer salad with baby arugula + south carolina peaches + bing cherries, scallion + roasted walnuts + manchego cheese served with sweet basil vinaigrette 

entree course ~ pepper rubbed hanger steak with sweet corn pudding + roasted shallot sauteed spinach 

dessert ~ pink lemonade cheesecake with sea salt graham crust + tequila syrup

The Experience of a Tasting…at Sun In My Belly!

I just visited one of my favorite restaurants, Sun In My Belly, to witness first hand a tasting for a soon to be bride and groom.  I wanted to know what the visit would consist of and even more how on earth they would decide which delectible dishes to choose!  The couple enjoyed about ten different dishes as the chef and staff described in detail the different selections. Afterwards, I spoke with the couple and they told me although they were in a slight food coma they had a fantastic tasting experience at Sun In My Belly.  They appreciated the impeccable service and attention from not only their server but the amazing chef, Alison Lueker.

Their tasting menu consisted of….

-Fried Green Tomatoes with Horseradish Sauce and Caramelized Onions

-Fried Green Tomatoes with Pimento Cheese

-Mini Corn Muffins with Carolina Pulled Pork and Purple Slaw

-Red Chili Mini Tacos with spicy Pepperjack and Avocado Salsa

-Bleu Cheese Shortbread with Candied Figs

-Crab with Jimaca and Haas Avocado Mini Tacos

-Kung Pao Chicken bites with Crumbled Cashews and Fresh Cilantro

-Paella Valencia

-Basil Laced Whole Roasted Salmon

-Grilled Vegetable Crudite with Green Goddess Dipping Sauce

The couple said everything was so delicious they just couldn’t choose only one favorite. Luckily, they narrowed it down to their top 3 favorite dishes which included the Paella Valencia, Grilled Vegetable Crudite with Green Goddess Sauce, and the Mini Corn Muffins with Carolina Pulled Pork and Purple Slaw.  The couple chose Sun In My Belly for their tasting because they enjoy local organic food that is fresh, delicious, and original.  They mentioned this tasting was one of their favorite parts about their entire wedding planning process.  It was a great lunch date with a focus on food and menu planning!  A lot of the planning can become stressful, but this was such a “relaxed experience” the bride-to-be explained.  Moreover, the groom loved tasting all the food and enjoyed being involved with such an important but fun decision for their big day. Wondering what the couple decided on with so many fabulous dishes for their wedding reception? A buffet–there were way too many delicious options to only choose one entree!

True Romance……. by Tulip

Tulip never ceases to amaze me with their vision for a wedding or an Atlanta Wedding Loft event.  However, the floral arrangements at this charming wedding confirm just how on target their spectacular vision is! The pink and white combination presents a very sweet and feminine look for this classically romantic   bride and her wedding.

Jennifer carried a romantic style bouquet designed with blush, cream, white and green blooms that included ranunculus, lisianthus, snap dragons, sweet peas, mini green hydrangea, blush and white roses, and cream spray roses.  Her bridesmaids carried a simply elegant bouquet of all white sweet peas.  She had a church ceremony at Peachtree Presbyterian and a dinner reception at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. 

Tulip also placed simple pink roses to accent the elegant wedding cake by Frosted Pumpkin with bourbon vanilla swiss cream icing.  The bottom layer of the cake was vanilla genoise with almond mousse while the top tiers were carrot cake with cream cheese filling.

The dinner table arrangements were a mix of designs that included apothecary jars, small, medium and large glass containers in varying shapes, candle sticks with floating candles, and votive candle light made with love by Jennifer’s mother.  The estate table was centered in the room to serve as the focal point and the blooms included hydrangea, roses, stock, tulips, and snap dragons.  Amber up lights enhanced the ballroom walls creating a cozy environment for guests.  Adding these lights to the reception space definitely enhanced The Decisive Moment  beautiful pictures.

Frosted Pumpkin

Frosted Pumpkin is a premiere specialty cake company with extraordinary artistic talents.  With over 35 years of experience and over 20 awards from the American Culinary Federation, it is no surprise that their cakes taste as delightful as they look.  Although my personal favorite flavor is chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache, there is not a single flavor that you will be able to resist.  I guarantee that if there is a flavor you prefer, Frosted Pumpkin will exceed your expectations.   Red velvet, vanilla genoise, carrot cake, pound cake, coconut cake icing, mocha mousse, swiss butter cream, rolled fondant, and fudge are just a few of their specialties.  Jeff and Karyn Schwerzler, owners of Frosted Pumpkin, can create any  look that you are going for. These pictures by The Decisive Moment speak for themselves but I love that each cake is unique to each couple and their wedding. When couples come into the Atlanta Wedding Loft for their tasting, Jeff hand sketches a cake during their meeting inspired by the couple themselves.  Each couple has a distinct style and their wedding cake should definitely reflect that.

E. Lebron Premiere = A Stunning Success

Thursday night Atlanta Wedding Loft hosted the  Premiere for the new E. lebron Bridal Collection.  We had a fabulous time celebrating this great new designer and one of Atlanta’s own! The debut of his stunning bridal collection was met with oohs, ahhs and rave reviews!  Brides, Industry Professionals, Friends, Family were all present to  celebrate Efran and all of his hard work.  Throughout the night our beautiful models wowed the guests in a variety of silhouettes from short dresses to full length gowns. Efran’s collection can be seen at the Atlanta Wedding Loft.  Where you can also meet with Efran to design your own couture wedding gown!

Many people helped make this event possible!  We would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who contributed to making the E. Lebron Premiere a success!

Sun In My Belly-Thank you for catering the delicious food! Everyone devoured the citrus poached shrimp, antipasto, triple berry pie, and miniature chocolate cupcakes. Of course our favorite was the fried green tomatoes with spicy pimento cheese–We can’t get enough!

I Do Linens-Thank you for creating the custom linens for our display table. It was the perfect color, fabric, and style for our event. Thank you for all your help. We loved getting the opportunity to work with you!
